G'day!

I am not what could be termed computer literate, but I have noticed that when I go to General Stats. on AdAware 2007, I have Total Infections Detected: 992 Total Infections: 675.

Should I worry about the discrepancy?

Is there any way I can do anything about it?

Will it damage my computer or software in any way?

Thankyou, all you incredible people out there who understand far more than I probably ever will!

Hi,

This is most likely caused by the fact that you may have selected to ignore (or quarantine) some of the infections ad-aware has found. depending on what you ignored will depend if it is damaging or not.

I'd recommend running a full scan and then checking the results of the scan and removing (or quarantining) all real threats. If nothing is found or if you choose to remove the threats that may be found, then you know you're likely to be ok smile.gif

I also note you say you're using 2007? Is this a typo? If so, you should have posted in the 2007 forum, but never mind and I'd recommend you update your program to the 2008 version (details here)

I hope that helps, post back and let me know,

Casey

Yeah, i have seen some differences also......just now it said I had a trojan and I ticked the boxes (all of them)and hit "REMOVE" it appeared to do that but when i reviewed the log file there was no mention of the trojan.

Also have you noticed that the logfile pathname specified in SETTINGS->Logfiles does not exist.

I wonder if these discrepancies were actually properly checked when the software was in testing or they are just oversights
