I'm running Windows XP Pro x64 Edition and using the 64-bit installer for LPF3. I have a standard cable connection, no router. I'm running Avast Anti-Virus on the side, no other firewall though, and the windows firewall was off.

After installing Lavasoft Personal Firewall 3, no programs are able to access the Internet. I do still have an IP, and I can ping web sites, however FireFox and IE never connect to a page, and other Internet-enabled programs are unable to download anything, connect for updates, etc. This persists even when the firewall is turned off, or when the program is completely closed, as well as when Avast is completely closed/disabled. In fact, the Internet problem surprisingly persists even in Safe Mode w/ Networking with nothing else running. Resetting the TCP/IP stack (netsh int ip reset reset.log) or winsock (netsh winsock reset) didn't have any effect, nor did a release and renew (although incidentally it was able to renew the IP address - it simply did not fix the connectivity problem).

After the install is complete and it asks for the reboot, it's after that reboot that the connection no longer works. Once uninstalled, and the system is rebooted, the connection is restored. I installed and removed it twice and for now have it off my system so that I'm able to connect.

Any advice would be welcome, I'd love to have a working and fully customizable firewall that finally works on my OS. Thanks.
