I think that Dell has some programs on their Vostro computers that interfere with Adaware. I have a Vostro laptop thats only about (forgot the number, I'll check later)5 or 6 months old and I continually have problems with it and Adaware.
I found that it has trouble updating and the only work around that I have found so far is to install in xp service pack 2 in the compatibilty mode. You do this by right clicking on properties. You will then see the compatibilty tab. If you are using xp, then I am not sure. I don't remember if xp has the same compatibilty type feature, but you can try.
This only works till the next update and then you have to reinstall. I don't use my laptop that much, so I haven't worked on the issue very much. I also have a Dell e521 desktop, but I don't have any problems with it. This could be because I formatted it and took all the dell junk off. I'm thinking of doing the same to the laptop, but first I will wait till the warranty is up or I have to format before I can try that on it.
I bet that Dell program that installs updates and checks the computer out, is interfering some how with some computers. Thats the only program I can think of.
Sorry, I couldn't be of more help.

Thanks very much. Can anyone else help with this? I did reinstall when i bought this vostro but its possible it still has some of the dell software interfering. It has vista home premium loaded.
