I am also having this issue. Rather than start a new topic, I thought I would post in this one. I hope that's okay.

This is annoying me because Ad-Watch is the feature that persuaded me to pay for the upgrade to Ad-Aware Plus. I am running Ad-Aware 2008 Plus v7.1.0.8, and Vista Home Premium. I found another topic with a similar problem where the guy posted a screenshot of his Ad-Aware folder, and from the reaction of those replying to him, it seemed like he was missing some files. I checked my folder, and I have the same directory structure.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program several different times, disabling NOD32, ESET and Spybot S&D each time, and deleting the Lavasoft folders in Program Files and Program Data, as directed, and also downloading the installer from several different locations, all with the same result. I am quite dismayed to say the least that the very same feature that I paid for is not available to me.

I also seem to be getting an access violation (code: 002C0000) related to lsupdatemanager.exe. I'm not sure whether this is helpful to you or not.

EDIT: Having done some more research I discovered that Ad-Aware and Spybot have some conflict issues, so with that in mind, I uninstalled Spybot and tried the whole uninstall/install process over again from the beginning. It didn't help.

I hope you can help, and thanks for your attention. smile.gif

uninstall it, and from the installer ,right click(make sure that it doesn't say block or unblock)go to compatibility and check run as an administrator and check run in xp sp2 mode.

Now for the down side, I cant get it to update after the initial installation and update, but you it should update to 100 definitions version and the 7.1.0.10 adaware version. I have the same problem on a laptop with vista home premium. I haven't figured out the problem, yet. The problem is if Lavasoft can't repeat it, they can't fix it.
Give that a try and tell how it goes, maybe for you it will update afterwards. Well see at the 101 definitions.

Tried that, no luck. It does exactly the same thing as before, the access violation and the cookieblocker.dll error. I tried updating the definitions and it said it had been successful, but it was still on the old versions according to the display. I've tried uninstalling again, and have gone looking for a 7.1.0.10 version of the installer, to see if that helps.

Edit: That made absolutely no difference whatsoever.

Thanks for your reply. smile.gif

There is no 7.1.0.10 version on its, it updates to it. I have know idea if they will offer it in future. I was goin to say ,let's try changing the compatibility feature after the install to xp sp2 or make sure the one installed now has it set to it, but that only works for some access code violations not cookie blocker. I believe that has to be installed during the installation.

Alright, let's see what is going in your computer, go the hijack this forum and at the top under one of the the treads, they have a link to the latest hijack this download. Run it and then copy and paste it here.
Another option is to go to support, you are paying for it and Lavasoft offers free help, they know exactly what the codes mean and probably what to do for each.

In fact do both, while they helping you, Ill take a look at hijack this log and if they can't figure it out I might notice something. Be sure to tell them about the security programs and everything you have running.
