My husband's computer has been plagued by these annoying "Internet Speed Monitor" pop ups. I have searched for a solution, but most advice says to uninstall the program, but the program is not installed in our control panel nor can I find it installed anywhere else. I have run Ad-Aware as well as SUPER Anti-spy ware and Symantec, but to no avail. I have downloaded Combofix, but I'm reluctant to use it without discussing the problem with someone who knows what they are doing i.e. not me.

You did just right by posting the hjt log

Delete your current copy of ComboFix.exe.

Then Uninstall Spybot to make sure TeaTimer won't interfere fixing. I'll let you know when it can be reinstalled.


A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

1. Download combofix from any of these links and save it to Desktop:

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you (C:\ComboFix.txt). Post that log & a fresh hjt log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.
