I typically run a Smart Scan without any problems.

In the last couple of days I have tried to run a Full Scan several times. It seems to take forever (2+ hours and only about half completed). I don't know if it is getting stuck (object scanned and name of item it is scanning don't seem to change).

How long should I wait before aborting the scan? Anyone else having the same issue?

Thank you all, in advance, for any help you can offer.

Hi rcher biggrin.gif
pls post a logfile in your next reply.
An info about K-usage ( task.manager ) could be helpfully.

the log file is too large. Smart Scans seem to run properly. I think the Full Scan stalls when analyzing a Norton Anti-Virus Product. Would I be best off removing and reinstalling Ad-Aware?

At least I'm not the only one having this problem. I bought the Adaware plus 12 month package last December, and have been using Adaware for a few years now, which is probably why I have been purchasing the packages instead of using just the free version.

Currently I am EXTREMELY IRRITATED because I tried to scan my system, the product reported 256 problems and continued to scan for 3 + hours. When I checked the processes program (through Windows Task Manager), nothing was happening. I tried to stop the scannig and nothing happened. I was not able to get the product to clean anything it found. I talked to my Brother-in-law and he suggested upgrading to Adaware 2008. So I tried that this morning and started by updating the version 2007 because of an automatic response dialog I got when starting my computer. I try to regsiter this, also as a response from a dialog box and was promptly rejected. I can't get any assitance from the web page or any available channels. Since trying to register, and subsequently getting rejected my version of Adawrae has been reverted to the free version, so I am not allowed any benefits that I paid for.

Should I unstall the product I paid for and consider it an expensive lesson? I can certainly share this information and experience with all those people I speak with from day to day since I am a computer consultant.
