I am using Ad-Aware 2008 on a network where I cannot connect to the update server. I am able to downlad definition updates manually, but how can I apply application updates? Ad-Aware 2007 would post the new version on the download site. I was able to uninstall and re-install it. That is not the case with the current version.

Do you connect via proxy?

If so, you can make ad-aware use the proxy sever, if you know the settings, to connect to the update server. Thus remove the need to manually update.

Go to: Ad-Aware > Web update > Settings > Tick Use Proxy and then enter your settings.
