lil chief
I've been getting a warning from firewall, that this is trying to be changed, svc host exe explorer exe, this happens when I turn on the computer.

In adaware I have my host set at the 127 number per suggestion from adaware I believe, so what is trying to change this>? Is it IE updating their browser window? I use the my msn homepage. the 127 number is a loop back i believe to someone trying to enter your computer, I may be wrong, but i did change it to this thru adaware advise.

How many svc host are supposed to be their when you look at running processes?

I have running svchost.exe system 884 k
svchost.exe network service 1176
svchost.exe system 244
svchost.exe system 14472
svchost.exe system 304
svchost.exe network service 356
svchost.exe local service 716

Thanks in advance

Hi lil chief biggrin.gif
Svchost.exe is a generic host process name for services that run from dynamic-link libraries (DLLs).
have a look to >> http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben...p;x=13&y=14 <<
To be on the safe side <>download and install 'HijackThis' from TrendMicro's, run a scan and copy/paste the log in your next reply.

I did go to MS typed in what they said, and got an unrecognized command, ah well, when first done the run, it assumes docs& setting, so i switched to c prompt, typed in the Tasklist / SVC again, nothing, typed in Tasklist/SVC this way, spaces or no spaces didn't work, Oh well, I had enough of that, I guess this stuff is supposed to run, its get frustrating at times, people don't have time to look all over the place or call MS etc. They just want to get their work done

I did a hijack this log which is in the Adaware post I just did,

thanks for reply
