Hi! I am new to this forum so if I have posted in the wrong one I will apologize now. This can all be confusing to a person who isn't sure of what they are doing most of the time. biggrin.gif Anyways, I downloaded the new Ad-Aware 2008 today and found that for some reason my computer didn't see to be running as smoothly as it did before. I had been using Ad-Aware 2007 but decided to update. Wrong!! I am going to write out the two error messages I got after I had deleted Ad-Aware 2008. Could someone please tell me what they mean??? Thank you!

1. System Error: 1814 has occured. Description: Could not log into service. Are you running this application as another user? Application terminates.

2. An error has occurred in Ad-ware!
Componet:
TformError
Message: Access violation at address 005BAACE in module "Ad-Adware.exe". Read of address 00000294.

Send this information to Lavasoft Support Team (http://secure.lavasoft.co/support/supportcenter/) and also what you just did to help us track down this error.
Ad-Aware now terminates.
EAccessViolation

First of all, all I was doing was deleting Ad-Aware2008 and was going to redownload it later just to see if that was the reason my computer was strange. I didn't bother anything within Ad-Aware at all!! I do know that earlier when I tried to run the program, I got a message that it was already running...BUT I didn't have it running. Anyways there you have it. I never had a problem with 2006 or 2007 or any other Ad-Aware till this one. Please let me know what is going on. Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Hi GrannyGirl biggrin.gif
pls uninstall AAW completely.
Start/Run > type 'cleanmgr'> enter > drive 'C' ok > checkmark temporary files/temporary internet files/recycle bin > run >
reboot.
Run a windows search for AAW traces and delete them manually .
Download and install Windows Install Clean-Up Utility ( WICU by MS ).
Run Wicu and delete the AAW references.
Reboot.
Try a new install and let us know how it works.
