Hey I have Experienced a problem with the last two definitions file released for Ad aware SE SE1R258 and 259, I have ran a total of 4 full system scans and I did not detect any critical objects on all of them, But as soon as I Reverted back to SE1R257 I dectected 13 tracking cookies which is my usual number on any given scan, I figured it was a bad def. file so I waited till today and downloaded SE1R259 and the problem was still there and I had to revert again, are you aware of this issue and are you working to fix it?

I remember the last time it did this was back in April and you were pretty fast to fix it in about a week, please repair it this time as well.

had same problem, had to go back to an older def file. i guess we all have to play it safe & remember not to delete defs that work.

Same experience here, and I use the paid version of SE Professional that was supposed to have "lifetime" free updates. Professional adwatch was always able to block cookies before they appear, but that feature seems completely gone now. I guess this version has completely expired and lavasoft just wants it to just go away completely.
Since the only reason I use lavasoft is for the tracking cookie blocking and removal, I guess I will be moving on. Too bad, it was a good product..........much better than the new paid products.

I went to a well-known website that delivers tracking cookies, and SE1R259 12 June 2008 didn't appear to stop them in AdWatch (I run SE Plus). I left the PC undisturbed for over half-an-hour to see if AdWatch would eventually display these cookies in the AdWatch log, but it never did.

I ran a full scan of AdAware with SE1R259, and nothing showed up.

I then re-installed SE1R257 04 June 2008 into AdAware and rebooted. I've found that a PC reboot is necessary for AdWatch to pick up the new definitions file, even though AdAware itself doesn't need this reboot.

When the desktop opened, AdWatch opened, showed that it had loaded SE1R257 - and also showed that 3 tracking cookies had been stopped...! Before I'd even had a chance to open IE7...! Just check-out the log times...!

These 3 cookies ARE the ones that SE1R259 failed to pick-up on...! I recognise them and their description.
This is weird...especially as a PC reboot clears AdWatch's log....!

I did a full scan with SE1R257 and still nothing found.

But I have to agree that SE1R259 is broken in some way...!

So thanks for the info guys.
I must be more robust in my testing of SE defs as soon as I install them.
