I used Ad-Aware Personal for many years with excellent results. Since this is no longer supported, I have now installed Ad-Aware 2007. I don't think that I have the settings selected properly. In the prior version I was able to quaranteen, label the grouped items, then delete after a day or two. How can I do this in this updated version? Thanks for any help.

The newest version is Ad-Aware 2008. Available here: http://lavasoft.com/download_and_buy/produ...rison_chart.php

Then when you scan if infections are found you can choose to quaratine (by clicking on the quaratine button) the infections (excluding cookies and MRU's) and delete at a later date. smile.gif

Hope that helps,

Casey

Casey,
Thanks for your reply. I shall look into the 2008 version, even though I just installed the 2007 version recently. Where I am confused is that critical infections and tracking cookies are not identified as such, as far as I can determine. Does the program have the ability to delete tracking cookies?

Tracking cookies are classed an infection and are classed as critical but are given a TAI rating of three. Yes the program will automatically want to delete them.

But i just don't think you can quarantine cookie whereas you can quarantine other infections.

Hope that makes sense.

Btw 2008 is the newest update and so offers fixes and improvements on 2007 so we recommend to everyone, but stay with 2007 for a bit longer if you want smile.gif

I note that you are a beta tester. When will the final 2008 version be released? Also, will the 2008 version overwrite the 2007 version, or should the latter be uninstalled first?

I was on the beta team but 2008 has been released (it was released on the 21st may). You can download from the link I gave you before smile.gif

It is recommended that you uninstall 2007 first, then install 2008. But the installer will remove 2007 if you leave it installed.
