I think LS no longer support it same as Microsoft no longer support it.
I hope you dont use that old 9x Windows for the Internet.
You can run XP same as your other PC on hardware from as far back as 2001 comfortably (Amd Athlon 1.4DDR) or Intel P3's + min of 512MB of Memory but ideally 1GB esp after service packs and other AV etc installed.
2nd hand parts have never been cheaper on E-Bay and even new parts are not much more these days at like £30 for a Dual Core Intel Celron or £45 for a proper Intel C2D CPU etc.

There's been a problem in the last few definition files that means they don't work under Windows 98SE or ME. Check this thread out for more details:-

Although it's really time for people to upgrade to newer operating systems, so long as you're running a virus and spyware checker with up-to-date definitions and are behind a firewall you're much less of a security risk than the majority of people running newer operating systems that have no idea how to keep their machines secure (regardless of what some others on here erroneously think!!)
I dont know anyone on here that claims a modern OS with no protection is safer than a older defunct one with protection.

Sitting with no protection the modern OS at least has Windows Updates that protect it from different aspects to any Antivirus or Antispyware APP's.

Maybe you should take your time and read my post more clearly. That's not what I said. What I said is that older operating systems are not the main security problem on the net; it's people who don't know how to secure their machines regardless of what operating system they're using.
If you're going to try and push your erroneous points of view onto others then I'm certainly going to respond and correct what you say. Especially when you are unwilling or unable to properly read and understand the comments of others. Basically, you're contributing nothing to this thread other than your opinions.

In my post, I clearly informed gotaro of the situation and redirected her to a thread clarifying the situation.
She has stated that she and her husband are senior citizens, so maybe they don't have the technical savvy or money to upgrade their 98 box...............
