Win XP pro and SP3
Linux2009
Windows Xp SP3 is tricky to ad-aware. Have you tried reinstalling ad-aware?

Well I Uninstall Ad-Aware 2007 plus in “Add or Remove Programs” and then installed the new Ad-Aware 2008 plus. I got the same problem in 2007 plus and SP2 but never in Ad-Aware SE!

Maybe "Boot" is the wrong word. It´s scanning/checking the A drive ( I don´t have a diskette there) before the program even opens. wub.gif

Is this a "Priority boot in BIOS" issue...? Just my 2-cents....

AAW 2008 will scan for all connected drives when it first starts up. This part of the hardware foot print. If AAW 2008 is a PLUS or PRO version this is part of the procedure to ensure it is a valid and original installed on the PC. If anything is changed in the hardware configuration AAW 2008 will revert to the FREE version. Persons will then have to obtain a new serial number from Lavasoft to enable PLUS or PRO again.

For example if a drive is removed permanently, a new registration number is required. I am not sure but I don't think it applies to drives connected via USB.

FYI. When I fire up AAW 2008 PLUS on my PC, AAW 2008 accesses the floppy disk drive (A), hard drive © and hard drive (D).
