HI ALL:
I recently installed the free version of AdAware 2007 because SE wouldnt update anymore. However, I cannot get it to update without disabling my Norton firewall. I never had trouble updating SE with this firewall active, and I have configured it to permit all AdAware 2007 communication but still no luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the Lavasoft Support Forum.

I have Norton Personal Firewall installed and I can update my Ad-Aware 2007 Pro just fine. Make sure you set Norton to Permit these:

aawservice.exe
Ad-Aware2007.exe
LSUpdateManager.exe

Hi sinan biggrin.gif
set Firewall Security level to 'safe mode '
( firewall is learning and alerts you ).
'Defence and Security Level' also.
Open Comodo from time to time, locate 'Summary' /'Proactive Defence' / ...files waiting for your review and enter.
Checkmark all trusted entries and move them to ' My Own Safe Files...

Hi.

I started my PC with no firewall at all and still ge same ssl failed message.

What do you think the reason.

For instance, how can I d/l and install defintions files manually.

Thanks.

Thanks Raziel.

It looks like "make sure to configure the Ad-Aware WebUpdate settings. In Ad-Aware 2007->WebUpdate->Proxy settings.
Save the new settings and try a webupdate again" is not availabe on free version.

It seems that either I d/l defintions manually or uninstall it.

Thanks again.

Hi sinan biggrin.gif
How to update manually
Download the current def. and save it to desktop.
Unzip/extract the file to Docs.and Settings/All Users/App.-Data/Lavasoft/Ad-Aware2007
Hope this helps.
Cheers
