I just finished downloading the free version of latest 2007. I attempted to download updates. Received 'error receiving update' message.

Me too with the updates, can't get them to update, although I've had the new version of AdAware 2007 since January and my udates were working great until they stopped on my desktop in my office in March and on my laptop, they stopped mid-April. I was given the suggestion of manually downloading them from Lavasoft and I did but they won't unzip. Can anyone tell me why I can't get them to unzip. I am using WinZip 7.0. It might be outdated but it's always served its purpose for what I need to unzip. I have it on both my office computer and my laptop. Up until I tried to manually unzip the def files from Lavasoft's site I've had no trouble unzipping anything. On my office computer, the last update was 3/20/08 and on my laptop the last one was 4/19/08. I run WINXP on both computers. I am on dial-up on both my desktop and laptop which takes forever to download. I had downloaded the current def file which was over 2 MB and it took so long I thought it'd never stop downloading. Then I found I can't unzip it. what a waste of time. I hope I'm talking about the same version of AdAware, right? I have the free version AdAware 2007, 7.0.2.7 that's the numbers on the window. Can someone please help? Or is Lavasoft forcing those of us that have the "free" version into buying the paid version?

Hi everyone, Royjean again. I'm still waiting for a reply to my "above" question from May 6. Is there anyone that might be able to download the latest def file for me and email me with it? I am on dial up and the last time I tried manually downloading the file it took almost an hour. I am afraid of trying to do it again since it takes so long then it not working. But I might be able to make do with the file if it was downloaded for me and I can unzip it and try it again if it was sent to me.
