Hello all.

Three days ago I ran ad-aware and it found both a ciadoor and memwatcher, so I cleaned and removd them, but just to make sure I restarted my comp. and ran the program again. Ad-aware came up with nothing, as in it removed them, but just take take further precautions I went to trendmicro and ran there scan in which both of them came back up and with more infections then what Ad-aware showed.

It listed the CIADOOR as SPYWARE_TRAK_CIADOOR in HKLM\software\microsoft\windowsNT\currentversion\winlogon\shell.

For the Memwatcher. Adware_Memwatcher in C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host\127.0.0.1 it listed this one twice with both the exact file location.

Steps I have taken to try to remove them both.

1. Adware.
2. spybot
3. trendmicro
4. Turned off the windows back up and ran all three of these programs again.

Please any help would be welcomed.

Hi

One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan.

This allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and Download and Execute files

I would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.

Though the Trojan has been identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of Trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS.
