Switching browsers isn't the answer. Installing firefox would do the same thing and you need to have IE7 properly installed - especially in order to update your system with Windows Updates. Those need to be *allowed* through Ad-Watch.
Ad-Watch is simply telling you it sees registry changes so you should *allow* those changes for IE7 to work. When you know you are doing something on purpose like installing IE7 or a new software program, windows updates, etc. - those type of activities you need to choose *allow* or else turn off Ad-Watch when installing new software or updating your system.
This post reply is the closest thing I have found to a situation like my problem. I was installing drivers and software for a dvd writer, and was prompted to allow or disallow the changes to the registry. I was too tired and rushed at the time to sort through an unknown quantity of registry changes to sort out, so I told Adwatch to disallow with the intention of coming back later to reinstall the drivers and software. This action caused changes which disconnected my .lnk file associations. The result is that very few programs or windows XP functions work. Does AdAware SE plus provide a resource for returning my windows registry back to an operational state? That would be a real data saver to say nothing of the stress on my arteries! Thanks to ya!
