I too, have not been able to get 2007 to work for me. I uninstalled SE successfully, after wondering why it wouldn't update anymore. Not being a frequent blogger, I didn't know about this forum, but I thought it was probably being replaced/updated to try to keep up with new threats, etc. Anyway, I've downloaded and installed 2007 about 3 different times. The initial download and install seems to go fine, but if I try to scan, my pc grinds to a halt, the cooling fan kicks on and I eventually reboot to get the cooling fan to go off and try again. I've also tried updating to the latest definitions, latest patch level, etc. before trying to scan, but get the same result. I'm wondering if I just don't have enough horsepower for the "new and improved" 2007 version. Below are the errors I get when trying to update, even though I do get an update successful pop-up and my last update changes to the current timestamp and if I try to update again, the software tells me I have the latest updates. I've also included the info from winmsd showing the specs of my "old" laptop, running Windows 2000 Pro SP4. Thanks for any advice!

Errors: "The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occurred in the application at location 0x7e59bcb1.
(after hitting OK, I then get:)

aawservice.exe - Application error: "The instruction at "0x00428184" referenced memory at "0x000000f8." The memory could not be "read."

It looks to me like the min/recommended avail mem is 50/100 meg and I appear to have 250+ meg. Am I misreading? Thanks for your response.
