On occasions, Ad-Aware may detect a genuine file / registry setting as malicious. This is known as a "False Positive" (often abbreviated to F.P.)
False positives occur in all anti-spyware applications, at some point, due to the myriad of system settings that are changed / files that are installed, when something installs on your system
If you suspect that Ad-Aware has a false positive detection, then you should report this immediately to Lavasoft Research You can make use of the submission form to send us information on your problem, while also attaching the file you think should not be detected, or attaching an Ad-Aware scan log that shows which registry keys are being flagged as malicious.
If you suspect that Ad-Aware has removed an important file that has broken / changed the behaviour of your installed software, then it is possible to retrieve the file from quarantine
