Greetings:

RE: Ad-Aware 2007 installed on Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2.

My attempts to update definitions in the past two days failed on error 1810

I have followed "spike-nz"s solutions detailed in your support fora of October 24th, 2007 [see http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=13013 ]

I uninstalled Ad-Aware 2007 through Windows "add/remove" feature, used Windows Installer Cleanup Utility [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301] and cleaned up all Lavasoft entries in Program Files and in Docs & Settings/Application Data folders.

In addition to those procedures, I ran a registry cleanup and a registry optimizer prior to logging off and restarting Windows.

The registry cleaning seems to have helped to solve the 1810 problem.

I restarted Windows, reinstalled a clean Ad-Aware 2007 from your web page and so far the 1810 error has not reappeared.

Can you please explain how I can avoid that error and all the others which followed each of the many solutions listed in the October forum referenced above and applied in turn without success ... until I used the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility suggested by "spike-nz" and performed a full Registry cleaning?

Thanks for your consideration.
