its the error message i get, and adaware will not scan until i remove a corrupt definition file. where are these files located, and how do i delete the corrupted one? i appreciate everyones help. i understand this is a free forum, and so thanks in advance for the time you take in answering.

Sorry for the late reply - I'm scouting back for any older, unanswered Topics.

By default, the path that you need to locate the core.aawdef file is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2007\.

Once you have deleted that, navigate to this page and download/unzip the latest Defs file (top-right corner) to the same location.
