i tried that and now i'm scanning my computer now.

but why does it take so long in "Preparing GUID scanning"? is it normal?

i need to restart my computer now so i'm gonna force quit it since the Stop Scan button doesn't seem to work.

thanks for the help, Raziel smile.gif

Hello, i was getting a similar message and tried what was suggested about stopping the ad aware 2007 service and the restarting it but i got exactly the same problem. So i uninstalled and reinstalled the adaware 2007 software and updated to the latest version of the definitions and tried again but got the same error.
However i did manage to resolve the issue, what i did was i disabled my internet connection and closed my firewall and antivirus software being AVG and zone alarm, and ended any processes that were running that were related to them through task manager, the scan was then successful.

just to add to that i was running windows xp professional service pack 2, and it was the adaware 2007 free edition

it always stuck scanning Corel Graphics 12 eventho i already un-installed this program out of my system. seems like it's still there in Program Files.. =\
how to remove Corel thoroughly from there?

i tried your advice, willy, but when i ended iexplorer.exe.. uh.. all the icons on my desktop's gone as well as the task manager until i did reboot my computer. i'm not a computer smart ^^; so i don't know what's related and what's not... -__-;;

Hello kry1one biggrin.gif
Pls download and install Windows Install Clean Up ( WICU by MS )
and CCleaner ( Piriform ).
Create a system Restore Point.
Your image shows that the files are in a copy of Programs and Data..
Run a windows search and delete all files manually
Run WICU and delete all Corel entries.
Run CCleaner ( make sure that you know how it works ).
Reboot
Hope this helps

hi.. i've just recently checked this thread again.. tongue.gif

btw, i downloaded WICU, but there's no Corel Graphic 12 in its list. i've searched my computer and it finds only 1 folder of Corel Graphic 12. should i delete that? is it safe to just delete it?

thanks, Raziel! biggrin.gif

Hi kry1one biggrin.gif
create a system restore point.
Now move the folder to the recycle bin, but don't delete it until you know how your system works without this
folder.
BTW your Athlon XP 1600 + processor becomes very hot during the sessions, that makes him NOT faster -
make sure that there is enough cooling.
