Windows XP Professional Edition, SP2 and all updates, Symantec Norton Antivirus running.
I've just downloaded and installed Ad-Aware 2007. I previously had the old SE version loaded, and the installer for the new version correctly un-installed it. I've registered the version as the 'free' version. Following installation, NONE of the Ad-Aware programs show any UI when I run them. All I get is a process in the system's process list. The service is there and appears to be running correctly.
E.g. if I click launch the Ad-Aware 2007 program, the executable "AdAware2007.exe" appears in the system's process list, but it does not appear in the system's applications list and no UI appears. The same happens with Ad-Watch 2007 program. The executable this time is "AdWatch2007.exe", but no application is added to the applications list and no UI appears.
I've tried removing and re-installing Ad-Aware 2007. I've tried re-booting the PC.
Can someone tell me what's gone wrong and how I fix it? I'm distinctly unimpressed so far...
