I guess I shouldn't complain, as am still using the Free ver., but the past versions on the same set-up did not drag like now. Yes, I use a dialup thru MSN Explorer that is certainly not the most speedy but has never been a problem. In the past few weeks it's gotten really bad. Clicking on the desktop icon now takes minutes to bring up the main screen, if I click on Update, it's minutes again before anything happens. And if there are updates.... an example, the latest - #52 - took 30 minutes to DL !! I've not changed any settings in/on the computer. Just really puzzled as to why/where it my be stumbling. Seems to me it started back around the 47-48 defs. update here on this unit. A full scan (offline) will take 45 mins to over an hour.
Anyone else experienced similar ? Could someone suggest where and for what I might check to resolve? All help and advice will be most appreciated. Thanks...

The answer to this is that Lavasoft needs to look at the program code and fix the delay. I too (on DSL0 have a very similar timing problem using AdAware2007 Free.

If you, with a DSL connect, are slow, then guess it's not just this setup... I really like all the versions used and am greatful there is still a Free Version - seems like every time I'm about to decide to buy one, a new ver. comes out and it's get that set up and learn how to use it all over again.

There are numerous topics going on this same issue so please refer to that one above linked as this issue has now been investigated and found (and should now be resolved).

The program is running faster this afternoon. Let's hope that the problem is finally resolved. Maybe Lavasoft canupdate send us a way to NOT install the French language pack

Thanks, C. Jane.. Somehow missed the above thread when looking before posting. The Load and check for defs. time is now back to seconds instead of minutes. No new defs so can't report on that. Did not get the popups that some mentioned in the thread. Just major slow-down. Have used the various versions for about 4-5 years and all have worked very well. Many Thanks to the Powers That Be for a great product !
