My computer has contracted NetWorm-i.Virus@fp. I uploaded the latest definitions on the newest version of Ad-Aware 2007 and ran a full system scan. It identified and removed a handful of items and I restarted my computer, only to discover that I still have NetWorm. I have attached the logfile I created w/ HiJackThis a few minutes ago. I hope that someone can help us get rid of this! I will greatly appreciate any help!!

* Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
* Reboot into Safe Mode`: ( without networking support !)
°To get into the Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.
* Doubleclick SmitFraudFix to start the tool.
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

I followed your directions and cleaned the registry and everything, but when I restarted in normal mode no text file ever appeared on the screen. Do you want me to go ahead and just post another HijackThis log?
Well, pending a response I will go ahead and post my new logfile below. If I need to redo the registry cleaning and stuff, I can, just say so. :^)

Are you still having problems now? Because your log looks clean.
Sidenote.. I notice from the log that there are running more than one different Anti-Virus programs with Auto-protect enabled. McAfee and Norton.
Never install more than one Antivirus and Firewall! Rather than giving you extra protection, it will decrease the reliability of it seriously!
The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, your system may lock up due to both software products attempting to access the same file at the same time.
Also because more than one Antivirus and Firewall installed are not compatible with eachother, it can cause system performance problems and a serious system slowdown.
So you have to make a decision here and keep the Antivirus you prefer and uninstall the other one.
Then reboot after uninstalling.

Everything seems to be fine now, but I wanted to be sure. Thank you for all of your help!! I have uninstalled Norton. This is my boyfriend's computer. I haven't been having problems with my own computer, but I will probably separately post a logfile later today just to be sure.
