A month ago I downloaded Ad Aware 2007 Free, replacing a previous version which was installed on my computer. The previous program, after a scan, had a simple button to click on labled FIX. This new version does not have that! Following a scan, it asks if I want to quarantine, remove, or finish. The only button that seems to work is the FINISH button and when clicked on, it then asks if I want to export!

My question, when I click Finish, is the program automatically removing the infections?

I have same problem Ad-aware 2007 finds a backdoor agent (Win32.Backdoor.agent) and a trojan (Win32.Backdoor.agent) during its scan aparently repeated 10 times?, however it will not quaranteen or remove them. After succesively clicking and removing them as well as sending them quarantine, when I rescan they show up again.

What good is a program that will detect the problem But not fix them??

I was very happy with the old ad-aware, and was willing to try this new one, but maybe you should fix MOST bugs before putting it as the only alternative.

Am currently looking for alternatives in the web.

I am having the same problem. I previously had SE installed, and this past week replaced SE with 2007 Pro on three computers. Two are using Windows XP and the other Windows 2000. I have the "Automatically remove Infection with TAI higher than" set to "3", and the "Quarantine before removal" option ON.

On all three computers, whether I run the scan manually, allow the scan to run on startup or when a scheduled scan runs, nothing is quarantined and nothing is removed! After a scan, the quarantine list is always empty, and if I re-scan, the same infections are detected again. I never had this problem with SE!

When I do a manual scan and press the Remove button, nothing happens. The number of detected infections that display on the tab towards the top of the panel may decrement a bit after a few minutes after pressing the Remove button, but then it stops decrementing. It never decrements to zero.

I also noticed that when the Remove button is pressed, all of the "checks" for the infections that are to be removed are cleared. I re-check all of the infections and press Remove again, and the checks, again, get cleared and the tree-list collapses if it had previously been expanded! I then have to press the Finish button in order to continue. When I re-run the scan, it seems that nothing was removed.

I also noticed that my "saved" settings seem to get intermittently reset to the factory defaults for no reason, so, I have to always check my settings to make sure that they were not discarded and reset. It is very annoying! Whether my settings were still intact, or if they were arbitrarily reset, the quarantine and removal problem persists on all machines.
