With the demise of SE, I have quit using adaware altogether for all my customers - myself included. I have been a paying subscriber for quite some time and have brought many new customers to Lavasoft in the past, but this new product is crappy. On the plus side, lavasoft's competition has GREATLY improved their offerings. (Thank goodness!)

There are many long time users, myself included, who are unhappy with the new 'improved' version of AAW, but you must understand that any opposition to 2007 version or debate of the relative merits of SE vs 2007 wiill be stifled and censored - there have already been several forum subjects removed altogether that questioned the efficacy of the new version.

Not at all true (and yes, I am a Moderator) - only those posts/topics that breach the forum's minimum standards or which use offensive/denigrating language are amended/edited. At worst, an offending poster will be put on "review", where any new posts must be cleared before showing in a Topic.

Being put on "review" only happens to a poster who has deliberately broken the forum rules and who has already received an official warning.

Please read both "stickys" in Welcome to Lavasoft Support Forums - they will give you the guidelines under which we operate.

You do not have to look far in this section alone, to find some posts which are on the negative side... for the most part, AAW 2007 Free users are happy to receive (volunteer) assistance and move on with AAW 2007 working for them.

Regards,

Spike

On the whole, I agree with what you say. I've had one bad experience with AAW 2007 - it wouldn't update unless I disabled my firewall which I was very unhappy about, then it wouldn't scan, my firewall said it had an unknown author and that the program wasn't digitally signed. In the end, I went back to AAW SE Personal. However, I'm not giving up that easily! I'll try AAW 2007 again, twice more if necessary, but if it fails after that it'll be the end of AAW for me. Since I've been using AAW since 2003, this will make me very sad, but sentimentality won't keep my PC safe, or as safe as I can make it.
