I have used Ad-Aware 2007 before with no problems. I recently needed to re-install the programme (which went okay), but when I run a scan it gets about two thirds of the way through and halts/throws up an error at exactly the same point each time. This is when it gets to "Scanning Layered Service Providers". The clock keeps ticking for a while as though the scan is still running but the Microsfot error/report box appears and eventually Ad-Aware resets itself without completing the scan.

Hope this makes sense. Anyone recognise the problem and able to advise what to do please? Thanks.

Further to my earlier query on this. I have found that when I turn off the "remove malicious LSPs" setting under Scanning I can actually run the Scan okay. But I'm still puzzled as to why it won't accept this setting, and I'm a little concerened that LSP removal isn't being allowed to take place. Can someone advise me please.

Did you ever get an answer on this? This is the same as my issue; am trying a scan now with the same setting that you advised.
