That is my question about Ad-Aware SE. Ran it on 2 pcs and it did great! No worries. Now I find out I can't use it and lavasoft is trying to shove Ad-Aware 7 down my throat. I WILL not put another resource hogging/buggy software on my machines! You had a great product that everyone liked and now you just threw it in the trash. I am going to look for another adware product to install that won't give me problem like AA7. I'm sure there are many of us who feel this way.

Indeed there are a lot of people who feel this way and I'm one of them! I have other programs which will do the job Which Ad-Aware does, but I'm not happy to lose a program that I've used with no problems since 2003. I tried AAW 2007, but it just didn't work properly for me although I'll certainly try it again before I give up on it.
I think the 'official' line is that AAW SE is outdated and not up to all the new and nastier stuff which is around these days, which is probably right and I would be happy to have AAW 2007 if it would work right, rather than refusing to update unless I disable my firewall (not good) and failing completely to initiate any kind of scan.
If the worst happens and AAW SE no longer has updates and AAW 2007 won't work for me, I'll keep AAW SE as a supplementary scanner.
