I found your forum while searching on google to try and find some advice to help me solve some virus problems.

A few days ago I was on what I thought was a very respectable Science topics website, and was on it for a few hours.
Then a popup occurred and it took my interest.. I clciked on it and unfortunately since then my problems began.

I do have AVG antivirus software,which was on as far as I am aware, although I had not updated it for a few days.. but it didnt stop the attack..

Initially I updateded it and ran AVG and it found 32 viruses... most were deleted or quarenteened..

many were trojans, including backdoor, agent, generic 4, downloader 6 and 9 opd as well as others like LOP..

most were in documents and settings, program files and windows, windows system..

I then ran Trendmicro online virus checker and this found one or two others..

Unfortunately however after doing this, I still have some problems..

I know seem to get a series of messages that occur on my desktop...

these range from RUNDLL, system32 .... , system warning ,potential error NT Kernel error 1256.
windows unstable,has been shutdown buggy application, Kernel debugger..

when I re run the AV checker, I seem to find between 2 to 5 viruses each time.
but then each time I open up, I get the same desktop msgs..

also my desktop altered and highlighted the icon writing, then later changed to white background, and a msg comes up with a button to click to restore my active desktop.

I also found hundreds of temp files that have shown up in my documents and my compter folders.
Initially I could delete them, but now no longer so..

I am now lost on what to do..

any help greatly appreciated..

is there a way I can find a log file and find out whats wrong if i post it.. I dont know how to find it.

try to download ' HijackThis ' from TrendMicro's page.
Install and post it in your next reply ( copy and paste ).
I'll move you to ' HijackThis Logs ' , it's the appropriate location
for your problem.
Pls be patient.

thks for your reply..

I think that I have managed to download hijacker and obtain the log ..

Heres the log copied and pasted.. I hope that this allows someone to try and tell me what may be wrong and what to do to try and rectify it if possible..

I dont know if i should post here or in the hijack part of the forum. For now Im chancing posting here again..

Hello

Could some one confirm if I have posted the correct hijack log

also explain what the proceedure usually is..

does it normally take several days before a reply or does one normally get feedback within a few days.
