Is anyone aware of a conflict between Ad-Aware SE (Personal) and avast! 4.7 Anti-Virus softwares? I have been using Ad-Aware for quite some time without incident (with Norton Utilities), but now receive the message "Error Retrieving Update" and the procedure stops (this immediately after having uninstalled Norton and installing avast!). I'm running Windows XP. Is it a matter of simply adjusting a setting or something?
Thanks. smile.gif

I have been getting this reply since 12/27/07 when I go to update my files. It is becoming ridiculous. WHat, if anything can I do? I do not have the other product that is asked about above. So, it is not a conflict with that, it seems that it is a problem with AD-Aware SE Personal. Please advise, Charity

Same issues here on 2 pcs with AdAaware SE Free ..Error retreiving updates.
I think they had an issue with the prior defintiion file which should be fixed by
manually downloading the latest definitions file.

Hello All,

The links for downloading the new AAW 2007 Free are here and here.

The product specifications (including which OS are supported) are here: Tech Specs

Prior versions of AAW should be uninstalled prior to installing AAW 2007 (which has been built from scratch to meet current and evolving malware threats).

The download file is bigger because all versions (Free, Plus & Pro) use the same executable in AAW 2007 (as opposed to AAW SE which had seperate executables for each version).

Regards,

Spike

Hi Raziel (and Spike),
Thank you for your assitance... especially the part where you rolled your eyes. No, really.... tongue.gif wink.gif
I can see that bunches of people had the same "problem". In my case, the fact that I encountered it almost immediatey after I switched my anti-virus software was misleading. I might have though there was a simpler solution had the timing been a bit different - just figured that they were part and parcel...
Thanks again!
Kind regards,
Jaguar
