I have Ad-aware SE running on Windows XP SP 2. Ad-aware build 1.06r1

Problem: Ad-aware reports "no update components available" when I initiate the "check for update" button. This has been going on for about 45 days. I've manually update the definitions hoping that I could catch the suspected worm, virus or malware that's causing the problem but to no avail.

This problem appears to me to be some kind of worm, virus or malware as I said above only because when something like this has happened in the past that's what it was.

I'm running Norton Antivirus and Zone Alarm firewall. All are updated to current releases and have found no problems.

Please advise.

Hi Rick,

Official Lavasoft support for Ad-Aware SE Personal v1.06 ended on 31st December 2007. That is why you are not able to update your SE Definitions as you were used to.

Lavasoft's new product, Ad-Aware 2007, has a Free version which is available from here or here.
