Full Version: UN-INSTALLING build 106r1

I have tried about every trick I can FIND to GET RID of Ad-Aware Se personal build 106r1.

I've tried the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and no lavasoft nor ad-aware programs appear on the list.

I've fixed error 1721 from another Micro$oft article.

I've re-downloaded version version 1.06 from --> http://oldapps.com/adaware.htm.

AARRRGHHH!

NOTHING WORKS GETTING RID OF THIS!

unregaaw.exe in program files does NOTHING and I am getting exhausted from failure after failure, after failure mad.gif

Would someone: ANYONE, puhlease? instruct me on HOW to remove this frapping thing?

I am reaching the point of anguished desperation: But I REFUSE to do a Format C to remove one (what I thought) was one simple program.

I hate being this angry about this.
That feeling makes me feel ------>ill.

Any suggestions or comments are much appreciated.

IF I COULD *ONLY* FIND THE .exe file from the previous version: I (only) suspect I could correct this.

Thanks for the patience and tolerance.
I'm at my wit's end.

Groucho,
I feel for you. Right now I have "Only" 50 % use of my one computer. I'm begining to believe it's not going to ever
be worth keeping Ad-Adare sad.gif unless I have money to pay someone to keep it going and my computer working.
I don't know what to do now and I have no money, bedridden and I am pissed as heck....

I never even got any answers to 2 questions. All I see on this forum which Ad Avare (Lavasoft) should really take note is that they made a mistake.
I don't know what will happen to me now. I have other computers that I hope I can get it uninstalled but I cannot use them do to being bedridden now.
I'm not old either.I'm older than I'd like to be but here I am now afraid this was goin to happen. I will end up staring at walls. I have 50 percent use of my computer ,if it stays on.

It looks like you tried a few things to uninstall. Why did you not use the prgrams uninstall feature or add/remove?? I would like to understand why Lavasoft insists on following other detailed/confusing ways to uninstall. Is it due to removing tracks inthe registryand all the oold logs,etc... I kee asking about the logs and everything I recently deleted 3/4 days ago and I'm not sure I don't have to add something back to my computer. It was a trial.

Well,Groucho, please post details if you actually can get it uninstalled and how you did it? No one fished helping me and now i need to figure out how to post what's happened to my computer and I can't. It's so bad I'm not sure what to do? I'm quite hysterical. I'm trying to find out answers. What I am seeing is I hate to say it-stay away . Find a new product and that kills me because this was a wonderful product. But it still needs to be uninstslled & I personally have error messages, lost my OE (Got it back with system restore) but that's all I got back & gained all kinds of problems. Will you make sure topost back how you managed to unisatll everything and did you uninstall logs and go to the registry also?
I know someone has to help you...angry.gif I'm hoping to get help from who ever posts to help you. I wish I could help but I don't know what to do now with my own PC. I am NOT capable of a reformat. I am adding here for someone to please help offer a solution as oon as possible.. I wish i could describe all my probled
They must.

Hi groucho,

You can find the installation file for AAW SE 1.06 here.

Alternatively, download and install the (free) CCleaner and remove all traces (either program or registry) of AAW SE.

Thanks for the help replies!

weellee: You can't un-install this piece of software from add/remove in the CP: in XP w/SP-2 anyway.
I'll buy Vista when Micro$oft come out with Service Pack 4 on a disc. laugh.gif

And to spike: man I can't find anything in that link about removing this Classic Malicious Software: Malware Deluxe. mad.gif

Unless you are talking about re-installing version 106 and then trying the normal un-install from the start menu.
Is that what you're refering to, please?

I do use CCleaner version 2.04 and don't know how to do that , since it doesn't appear on my Program list.
But the Program files are still in Drive C.

I'll think a loooooooooooooong time before I EVER install any Lavasoft Malware again!

My last solution appears to be installing 106 again, removing this JUNK thru the Start/Program menu and seeing if that works.

I am about to start waving the Large White Flag, and un-loading the weapons. (must be my French bloodlines, monami')

Still ---> mad.gif (mostly at yours truly for installing this Cra* in the 1st place.

Hello Groucho,

How come you started another new topic? It's confusing because you already had one going and we had been through a number of steps. Did you lose the topic? Here is the last post I made to you in that topic.
http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?s...amp;#entry66434

Did you try those steps next?

Guys, I'm going to have to split up this topic and keep it all in one thread, otherwise we are repeated the same steps Groucho has already been through.

Weelee2, if you are still having issues and need help, please post a new topic of your own.

CJ,

I never even knew this was another topic. Not by me.... Today is 1/25 and not a topic started by me. Just me answering someone.
I replied to someone.
What now?

If I have a problem and can handle posting it on this forum I will.
I replied to someone who used my name and offered help when I thought he couldn't uninstall Adaware SE .
I did not make a new thread.

Still,I replied back because I got the message and my name is in it. I was not going to be rude to someone.

I don't know how you ended up in Groucho's topic.

Maybe he cross-posted into one of yours and it was split out.

It's ok but it can get confusing if people are posting their problems in someone's topic and then start yet more topics. I'll need to split this one out. Do you want me to move your posts to your own new topic?

I replied to Groucho 1/20. Today is 1/25 and I got a message so I replied.
NO,CJ !! Do not make a topic or new one for me,.God no,please do not do that. This is not me doing anything but replying to someone elses topic.

Ok, I see now. You don't need to reply any further in this topic anyway.
You'll probably need to look in the *My Controls* and Under the "Subscriptions area" choose *View Topics*
If this one is listed, please checkmark it and press the *unsubscribe* button at the bottom. That way you shouldn't receive any more notices. This is groucho's topic and I'm going to need to merge it to the other one so we can have a clear picture of the progression of steps he has taken.
groucho
I guess I was wrong.

I apologize.

Format C here we come.
