Is there a way with shredder to completely remove files deleted prior to installing Shredder?
The way Windows writes a new file then deletes the entrys for the old version of the file in the FAT when ammending a file may mean there is data on the hard drive that the user has not deleted therefore is not shredded. Unless this data is shreeded as well then shredding files you delete may be wasting your time.
Defrag moving files about during it's operation may also leave data on parts of the drive that may not be overwritten for a long time if ever.
I have heard that some programs write zeros to every unused bit of the drives to replace the data that is there. Does Shredder do this automatically, manually or not at all?
