Full Version: Can't get Registry Tuner started

Purchased Registry Tuner 3 year license, downloaded the software (twice now), installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, etc. CORRECTLY entered the license key code several times.

When first starting the product, I got the activation screen - entered properly the license key, and got a message "Your subscription information or your activation code is entered incorrectly". I could not go further, regardless of what I entered. Something that I did caused the following change:

Now, when starting the product, the activation screen comes up and says:

"Your Subscription Expires in 1095 Days".

However, it still requires me to pick one of the three buttons - the one that requires me to enter my activation code - and then tells me it's wrong. And the button to buy an extension. And the button to activate later, which exits the program.

Yes, I sent the support request form to support, more than 24 hours ago. No answer. So, how do I get real support since I paid real money?

As I said, I tried uninstalling, re-downloading, and re-installing. Still can't get past the activation screen.

I am inclined to say that if Lavasoft can't get the activation stuff right, I probably should not have the trust and confidence to let this product mess with my registry.

So, how do I get my money back? Or get the product to work?

Well, I finally got email back from Lavasoft, telling me how to try to resolve the problem I reported with Ad-Aware. Of course, the problem I reported was this one with Registry Tuner. Three days to get the wrong answer about the wrong product.

Dalecoy,

Are you still working with the Support Center on this to resolve it one way or another?

The forums here don't have the ability to resolve registration issues.

Well, I am TRYING to "work with support". But note that when I log in to the technical support area, there is NO BUTTON to request support on Registry Tuner. And when I asked for help on "Other", they replied with help on Ad-Aware. So, I'm trying, but support doesn't seem to be trying.

By the way, the technical support site DOES recognize that I purchased a license for Registry Tuner.

And I was sent the same activation code in 2 email when I purchased the product. But I still can't use it.

I thought perhaps somebody in the "SUPPORT Forums" might have an answer to my registration problem.

Thanks - I was already using that email address to correspond with the support team. (It was the sending address on the after-2-days-wrong-product-answer that I originally got).

Support generated a new activation key, which seems to have fixed the problem.

No explanation of why the original activation key was "wrong". And I find it interesting that:

A. When the "wrong" activation key was entered, there was no error message nor any indication of what the problem might be - just return to the activation screen.

B. The "wrong" activation key actually caused the product to know that I had a subscription for 3 years, but wouldn't allow the product to actually run! Curious.

Anyway, thanks for your help.

Hi DaleCoy,

Glad to hear they got it sorted for you.

It might have been a "one time" incident, since I haven't heard of any others having a problem, but if we do I'm sure the Support Team will take it under task to report the problem so it can be looked at.
