I downloaded Ad-Ware 2007 since my old version 1.06 no longer are being updated. I recieved a file "aaw2007[1].1.2D0D17.efw" for which I am not familiar with. Previous Ad-Ware downloads had file extension in exe format. How do I proceed? Thanks!

Not an expert, but I'd think you've not downloaded Ad-Aware 2007, but maybe wrong, no doubt someone will tell you, but I wondered if you put correct name in, as in you message you put Ad-ware 2007 not Ad-Aware 2007, I know this may be a typing error, but my daughter had someone download what they thought was Ad-Aware only to find it was spyware. So do be careful.

.ewf file type is the result of your Antivirus (Computer Associates) renaming the file when you download.

This usually happens, I believe, if you are using Internet Explorer and click on the download line and choose *run* instead of *save*.

Try using the *save* option and save it to a location that you can find easily (like your desktop), and allow it to save to there, then you should get the proper exe file without CA renaming it.

Make sure you are going to the Lavasoft site to get to the official download site

Thank you LS CalamityJane!
That was the problem. I turn off the CA Fire Wall, and the file downloaded perfectly. Installation went smoothly. Problem solved! Thanks Again.
