I have addressed the following problem to Lavasoft Support Center and am still waiting for a reply from them (hope I get one since I have paid for my PRO Version).
Meanwhile I hope that someone out there which maybe have encountered a similar problem and might have some advice how to solve it.
I have successfully downloaded, installed, registered and updated Ad-Aware 2007 PRO Version 7.0.2.5 without any problem on my PC with Windows XP Professional SP2 with 2GB RAM.
There is no problem at all with Ad-Aware 2007 PRO Version 7.0.2.5 though, my problem is with Ad-Watch 2007.
My questions is regarding Ad-Watch 2007:
1. Each time when I start my PC, Ad-Watch Status Realtime Protection screen appears even although I under Settings/General Settings has set it to Start minimized, why ?
(I want it to start without a splash screen as a minimized icon on the icon bar as it did before with Ad-Aware SE Professional).
2. My selected settings (in green) under Settings/General Settings and RegShield/Protected Areas doesn't stay selected (green) for some very strange reason.
If I under RegShield/Protected Areas select every option (i.e. to protect everything, all green), and then just click Settings and go back to RegShield/Protected Areas
then some of the protection options have reverted back to red by themselves.
If I repeat this procedure a couple of times then all options under RegShield/Protected Areas has reverted back to red, leaving my registry completely unprotected I am afraid...
although the Status/Ad-Watch Status under Realtime Protection shows that Protection Status is on all the time for everything (including RegShield).
Since I haven't found a save button to save selected settings in Ad-Watch, I have tried to right click on the Ad-Watch icon on the icon bar and selected:
Close Ad-Watch, hoping this would save the settings, but on next start the settings have reverted back to red again.
Why doesn't my settings stay selected and what can I do to make them stay selected, what's happening ?
3. Under Settings/Log I have selected every option (i.e. to log everything, all green), yet nothing is logged under Status/Event Log, am I doing something wrong ?
4. Under Settings/General/Notifications:
I have tried selecting: Blink tray icon, but it never blinks at all,
I have tried selecting: When TAI Exceeds 2, but never get an indication that it actually works at all,
I have tried selecting: Use rules in user list, but there is no rules to use in the user list,
how does they get there in the first place and does no rules mean this option doesn't work for me at all ?
In fact, I have seen no evidence what so ever that my Ad-Aware 2007 is actually working, any ideas ?
I have read through the manual to the software but nothing explains what could be wrong if these problems I have described appears.
It only describes what every setting is supposed to do (IF IT WORKS).
I have read other users comments in these forums and see that they have problems with too much blinking tray icon and Regshield/User List and User set rules,
indicating that they at least have something working with their Ad-Aware 2007, so would I !
I would therefore appreciate any constructive suggestions, hints or tips from anyone having their Ad-Aware 2007 working, please!
