Hi,

I installed three times the all new ad aware 2007 (vista 32 compatible) on my computer running Vista Home Premium (32bits) and each time i had the same problem : Ad Aware crashes at startup.
It is so sudden that nothing appears between the click on the launching icon and the attached error message :

I search the forum for a solution in vain.

Can anyone help ?

Thanks.

I have a similar experience. Ad-aware vista compatible was installed and worked well until the same Windows message appeared, but in English:

"Windows has expereinced a problem...."

No further information is provide by Vista.

Reinstallation, even after a fresh download of Ad-aware still produces the problem window.

What should I do next to find the exact nature of the problem??

I installed Ad Aware 2007 (Free) on my Windows XP and received this message: Error 1920. Service 'Ad Aware 2007 Service' [aawserevice] failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

What privileges do I need to start a free version?

Oh, and while I am at it, I just registered here and had to affirm that I understood everything in your set of warnings but I lied :-( I don't understand this:

"Lavasoft does not condone, support, nor endorse the use of any host application after the targeted components that were bundled with said application are removed. We also hold that to do so may not only be a violation of the applicable EULA, it could be considered illegal and/or unethical. As a result, we strongly recommend that you uninstall these programs, as this may be a condition of their continued use."

What targeted components of what application(s) am I not supposed to remove and how could I remove them anyway?

But that is just for my information. My real problem is the error cited above.

Hi All biggrin.gif

at first we need a clean installation, than we'll look further.
Let's go >>
Uninstall AAW 2007 >> run CCleaner >> reboot >> start windows search and delete all leavings>>
run CCleaner ( **FREE WARE ) >> reboot .
Disable your secur.software >> download from LS homepage >>
install >> start AAW.
If it not works <<<>>> let me know.
