Hi Doomest,
You purchased a little before me (mine was in Oct 2001).
The basic story so far - all previous versions were upgrades of the same older technology, so the "Free Lifetime License" applied. However, AAW2007 has been built from scratch, using modern techniques - as such, it isn't the same product as before so the "Lifetime" part no longer applies. Lavasoft switched to an Annually Renewable License system a few years ago ( similar to most AVs etc).
If you bought online through
element5, you can still log into their database and download your purchase details
here.
Once you have those details, please log into the

Please give them your originalo purchase details and point them to
this post to obtain the first year's license of AAW 2007 Plus/Pro for free:
QUOTE
Regarding your entitlement to a free version 2007 due to having a ‘lifetime license’ or ‘lifetime upgrades’; because Ad-Aware 2007 is an entirely new program, technically this is not an upgrade from past versions of Ad-Aware therefore your lifetime license will not roll over to this new product. To explain this further, all past versions of Ad-Aware have been an improved upgraded version, still based on the original software. The new Ad-Aware 2007 is completely new program with an entirely redesigned engine which means it is not just an upgrade, but a new product altogether. It is also important to make you aware that Ad-Aware SE is no longer going to be supported from December 31st therefore to remain protected you will need to upgrade to Ad-Aware 2007 before this date.
We assure you that you are a valuable customer to us, and although we can no longer offer lifetime licenses, we will certainly offer you a free 12 month subscription to Ad-Aware 2007 Professional so you can upgrade free of charge. This will allow you to use the program for 12 month, however at the end of this period you will need to pay to renew your license.
Regards,
Spike
NB: This only applies to those who purchased licensed versions prior to 2004 - no-one else...
