I've already read the sticky posted, and can't seem to get rid of this blasted malware. I have run Spypot and Adaware and I can't get rid of this. I DID Delete some of the file listed in the other sticky, like the

c:\windows\msvideo.dll.bak


*c:\windows\pmspl ****WIndows will NOT let me delete this, it says it is in use by another program, but I dont know WHAT program!

First the Ver of Hijack-This your using is outdated remove/uninstall it and install this new ver.

Download HJTInstall.exe to your Desktop.

[list=4]Doubleclick HJTInstall.exe to install it.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
Click on Install.
It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
Once installed, it will launch HijackThis.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
Save the log to a convenient location as you'll need to post it soon.
Don't use the Analyse This button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
Don't have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.[/list]

NOTE: This next step I'm going to have you do. Is to be done only after you download the tool, above not before.

AVG
Please open the AVG Control Center program -> double-click on the "AVG Resident Shield" component (looks like this:Click to view attachment ) -> deselect the "Turn on AVG Resident Shield" checkmark and save the setting.
When you need to enable the AVG Resident Shield, ( I’ll let you know when) just open the AVG Control Center program -> double-click on the "AVG Resident Shield" component -> select the "Turn on AVG Resident Shield" checkmark and save the setting.

SPYBOT TEATIMER

* Launch Spybot S&D, go to the Mode menu and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected.
* On the left hand side, click on Tools, then click on the Resident Icon in the list.
* Uncheck the "Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of overall system settings) active." box.
* Click on the "System Startup" icon in the List
* Uncheck the "TeaTimer" box and "OK" any prompts.
* If Teatimer gives you a warning that changes were made, click the "Allow Change" box when prompted.
* Exit Spybot S&D when done.
* (When we are done, you can re-enable Teatimer using the same steps but this time place a check next to "Resident TeaTimer" and check the "TeaTimer" box in System Startup.)

NOTE: Again this is to be done only after downloading the tool, above not before.

[*]Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackThis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Well other then having this here SpywareBot I don't so much of a problem. How is the PC now any better. I need feedback.

OK, I did all that, and I will post the LATEST Hijack log after this. What happens is I am connected to a network, so every time I click on the Network, in this case (Y) drive, and open up a folder or sub folder, a popup comes up before opening the folder. It says "Warning! Your computer has been infected with the win32Trojandownloaded.zlob Click here to fix (recommended)" then I hit "cancel" and it attempts to get me to access a fiel called "defender-install.exe'

Other than the pop up it runs alright... I appreciate your time and energy!!!

1. Download FixIEDef.zip by ShadowPuterDude to the Desktop.
* NOTE: It must be saved to your Desktop or it may not work properly

Don't run just Yet!

NOTE: This next step I'm going to have you do. Is to be done only after you download the tool, above not before.

NORTON ANTIVIRUS
Please navigate to the system tray on the bottom right hand corner and look for a sign.

* right-click it -> chose "Disable Auto-Protect."
* select a duration of 5 hours (this assures no interference with the cleanup of your pc)
* click "Ok."
* a popup will warn that protection will now be disabled and the sign will now look like this:

You succesfully disabled the Norton Antivirus Guard.

AVG ANTI-SPYWARE

* Launch AVG Anti-Spyware.
* From the "Status" menu, select "Change state" to inactivate 'Resident Shield' and 'Automatic Updates'.
* Then right click on AVG Anti-Spyware in the system tray and uncheck "Start with Windows".

SPYBOT TEATIMER

* Launch Spybot S&D, go to the Mode menu and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected.
* On the left hand side, click on Tools, then click on the Resident Icon in the list.
* Uncheck the "Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of overall system settings) active." box.
* Click on the "System Startup" icon in the List
* Uncheck the "TeaTimer" box and "OK" any prompts.
* If Teatimer gives you a warning that changes were made, click the "Allow Change" box when prompted.
* Exit Spybot S&D when done.
* (When we are done, you can re-enable Teatimer using the same steps but this time place a check next to "Resident TeaTimer" and check the "TeaTimer" box in System Startup.)

NOTE: Again this is to be done only after downloading the tool, above not before.

Now run

2. Double-click FixIEDef.zip, this will create a folder named FixIEDef on your Desktop.
3. Double-click of the FixIEDef folder.
4. Locate FixIEDef.bat and double-click on it.
5. FixIEDef will now run.
6. Press any key to close the CMD Console when the script is finished.

Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

I'm glad it worked out for you. But please the thanks go to ShadowPuterDude and tons of others who work hard at trying to stay 3 steps in front of the bad guys. Now let's do some cleaning here.

Start --> Run, and type Combofix /u in the box that appears. Click OK afterwards. Notice the space between the X and the /u It needs to be there.

The above procedure will:

* Delete the following:
o ComboFix and its associated files and folders.
o VundoFix backups, if present
o The C:\Deckard folder, if present
o The C:_OtMoveIt folder, if present
* Reset the clock settings.
* Hide file extensions, if required.
* Hide System/Hidden files, if required.
* Set a new, clean Restore Point.

FixIEDef folder<--- Delete the folder

For Internet Explorer 7

Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
On the General tab, click Delete... under Browsing History.
Next to Temporary Internet Files, click Delete files, and then click OK.
Next to Cookies, click Delete cookies, and then click OK.
Next to History, click Delete history, and then click OK.
Click the Close button.
Click OK.

Empty the Recycle Bin by right-clicking the Recycle Bin icon on your Desktop, and then clicking Empty Recycle Bin.

Make your Internet Explorer more secure - This can be done by following these simple instructions:
1. From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
2. Click once on the Security tab
3. Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
4. Click once on the Custom Level button.
a. Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
b. Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
c . Change the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
d. Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
e. Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
f. Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
g. When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
h. If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.
5. Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.

Please take these following steps to help prevent reinfection:

1) Download and install Javacool's SpywareBlaster | # Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted software.
# Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
# Restrict the actions of potentially unwanted sites in Internet Explorer.


2) Download IE-Spyad | works by importing a large file of registry entries into your registry.A tutorial on it can be found here


3) Go to Windows Update | Frequently Make sure to check for the latest updates.


4) All of these great programs will not do a thing for you. If none are kept updated. So please check all of them for the latest updates.


5) Please make it a point to have a look at. this great site, By the Master Miekiemoes.
