** oops, I ran search & destroy and removed some more stuff, then when i uninstalled msn messenger, the virus was moving around and avast found Win32:Agent NGJ... so when I tried to fix with combo fix, my computer doesn't start up and says "missing operating system"

i tried to put the system recovery CD, but gives me this error: "cannot normally execute the inital setting of partition info. this utility exits and your computer is rebooted"

can my stuff still be saved or do I have to reformat the whole thing?

Hi, I received this strange instant message from my friend and it sent some sort of zip file. It said something like "does this pic look ok, i want to post it on myspace" A few minutes later, all my online contacts received instant messages from me with a zip file.

I tried to run Ad-Aware se Personal Build 1.06r1, but it didn't find anything.

* Launch AVG Anti-Spyware.
* From the "Status" menu, select "Change state" to inactivate 'Resident Shield' and 'Automatic Updates'.
* Then right click on AVG Anti-Spyware in the system tray and uncheck "Start with Windows".

Open Notepad and copy and paste the following quotebox into a new text document. (Don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4!)

Save this as fix.reg Choose to save as *all files and place it on your Desktop.

Huh other then trying to reboot not sure it just maybe time to format. Reinstall OS not sure if at this point you can grab anything off the PC! what did you try that made this happen.
