I have AdAware SE v7.0.2.5

Whan I run a complete scan AdAware may find say, 244 items to remove. When I select remove it rolls down and maybe around 160 left I get a message saying something about not being able to remove a file. But that is where the program stops. It does not remove the other 159 files (at least to what it shows me). I select quit and get a message saying that there are still files left to remove but cannot remove them.

Any ideas of what may be wrong?

From the file version, I would presume that you mean Ad-Aware 2007 v7.0.2.5...


Do you have MRUs selected for detection? If so, I would de-select that option and try scanning again:

MRUs (Most Recently Used applications) are similar to the "recent document" list in MS Word and do not pose any malware threat to your system. Some users view them as a "privacy" issue, so that is why they are reported under the "Privacy Objects" tab of the scan results, along with Tracking Cookies, as opposed to actual malware which is reported under the "Critical Objects" tab:

Once a scan has completed with MRUs de-selected, check your results - if nothing appears under "Critical", your system should be safe. You can then re-select MRUs if you wish, re-scan and stop after the first 50 or so items are detected - clean anything found at that point then repeat until nothing else is found. It is likely to be the volume of such items found which is causing your problems.
