Thought I saw something about this is another post where someone else was having the same problem but can't find it now...

For past several days, when attempting to start up my version od Ad-Aware 2007 (which worked quite well prior to the first error code being received), I now get an error code box: "System error:1810 has occurred. Description: Service not online. Application terminates".

Is this a "me" problem or a LavaSoft server problem? unsure.gif

Thanks for any responses in advance.

I too have experienced the 1810 error. Have tried all the fixes recommended on the forum, with no success. When I went to the - run - services.misc -- and right clicked on the Lavcasoft program, the only active button was "start". The "stop" was not active. When I tried the "start" button I received the message "Could not start the AdAware 2007 Service service on local computer. Error 1067: the service terminated unexpectedly"

Any further fix suggestions????

Hi Bendmac & jaby,

Please see this AAW 2007 FAQ, which may be of assistance: How do I resolve the "Error 1800" problem?
To solve the problem you experienced, you will need to remove a possibly corrupt settings file for Ad-Aware 2007. To do this:
 • Open explorer and navigate to the file. The file is usually stored in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2007.? If you cannot find the folder please set your explorer to show hidden files. (To do this: open explorer, go to the "Tools" menu and click "Folder Options." Select the "View" tab and choose "Show Hidden Files" under "Hidden Files and Folders".)
 • The file to remove is called "settings.aaw". Please be sure not to delete any other files.
 • Restart your computer. Ad-Aware will start as normal.[/

If re-setting the "settings.aaw" does not solve your problems, please post back.

How do you give Adaware 2007 administrator priviliges within the system services?

i've tried EVERY thing posted to correct this error. removed the settings.aaw, tried to start the service manually with admin rights, ensured that the RPC services was running (since ad-aware's service is dependent upon it).

when i try to manually start the service i'm getting a "Error: 1053 did not respond to start or control request in a timely fashion"

a very polite message...but it's not what i paid for....help me make this thing work or give me a refund!
