..i hope this is the right place to post this..

..i currently have Ad-Aware SE on my system. I am trying to upgrade to the 2007 version. I have downloaded the aaw2007.exe file, but when i go to run this, i get a "..is not a valid Win32 application.." warning from my system. Is there anyway to get this to run correctly?

..i have Windows XP, and maybe this new version of Ad-Aware is only Vista compatible..i'm not sure..

..any advice would be helpful..

AAW2007 (all versions, free and licensed) runs on Windows Vista (32-bit), Windows XP (Home and Pro), Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 (Pro and Server) .

Please try the following:
Go to "Start > Programs > Accessories" and click on Command Prompt
Type cd C:\Windows\System32 then hit Enter
Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll then hit Enter - You should get a "successful" message
(NB: Please note the spaces in each of the above entries).

Then try installing again.

I have Ad-Aware SE Plus, it id the 2006 version. I upgraded my license. In the instructions it says to uninstall all versions of 2007, but since i have 2006, do i uninstall that before upgrading, or is it alright to just upgrade to the 2007 version without taking the 2006 version off the computer. I am running Windows XP.

Hi SteveZ,

Yes, it is best to uninstall Ad-Aware SE before installing Ad-Aware 2007.

Please use either the Ad-Aware un-installer from the "Start > Programs > Lavasoft > Ad-Aware SE" menu, or the usual Windows "Add/Remove" programs feature.

..i removed the old SE version of AD Aware that i had. The 2007 .exe file unfolded just fine after that.. biggrin.gif
