From all of the forum posts that have been made on this topic, it seems you have two choices:
1) You can wait for a Lavasoft employee to read your topic and give you an inside track to transferring your license to Ad-Aware 2007 for one year. After one year, the Ad-Aware 2007 license will expire and you'll either pay more money, or you'll find an alternative.
2) You can ignore the "time to upgrade" message and continue to use the Ad-Aware SE Plus that you paid for. If you are like me, you paid for "lifetime updates" and can continue to update the old program for free. At some point, Lavasoft may decide to stop supporting Ad-Aware SE, and then we'll both have to look for something else. The entire situation is sad, I know, but it is how it is.

A year ago I received my license for Ad-Aware SE via email. Here's what the email told me to do:
Please follow this url to enter the Lavasoft-customer area to download your copy of Ad-Aware SE Plus.
_http://download.lavasoft.de.edgesuite.net/auth/qEPmYPLXbDNk/aawseplus.exe_
*Enter the following username and password: *
*Username:* ______________
*Password:* ______________
[I've left the Username and Password blank in this message, but they both consisted of random strings of characters and numbers. Neither of them was my email address].
I followed the instructions and was able to download Ad-Aware SE.
Now, for the last few months, I keep getting a message from Ad-Aware SE telling me it's time to upgrade to Ad-Aware 2007. When I click on the link it takes me to a page that asks for my email address and password.
But when I enter my email address and the password I received a year ago I get this response:
"We couldn't find your e-mail in our customer register. Please check spelling and try again."
I emailed Lavasoft customer service weeks ago asking for help, but got no reply.
Any ideas on where to go from here?
