I downloaded and installed the latest version of Ad-Aware "Free" version 7.0.2.3 last week. I try to update the definitions files (I show the latest Definition Files date as 9-25-2007, version 0023.0000) but when I click on the "Update" button, I get a momentary screen saying "Getting Information about Definition Updates, Please wait" and nothing else happens. I am using Mozilla Firefox Browser, ver. 2.0.0.8, and Windows XP, SP2.
I tried to get the update from your website and was able to download a "core" zip file but after expanding the zip file, I am still unable to update......I have registered and validated my registration this morning. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You do not get any error message whatseoever?

Do you have any firewall software that may be blocking the update?

No error messages. I updated my Ad Aware SE Plus to Ad Aware 2007 last week. Ad Aware SE Plus works clean, downloads updates normally with no evident firewall interference. I am using Norton Internet Security Firewall, Spy Bot Search and Destroy, and Windows Defender.... I also re-installed Ad Aware SE Plus and it continues to operate normally.
Isn't my Ad Aware Plus a "paid for" version? I am unable to locate any registration details in my files if it is. All help is greatly appreciated....

Further details regarding my inability to download Definition Updates

In my efforts to further troubleshoot my problem, I uninstalled my Ad Aware 2007 application. After I did that, it would appear as though the uninstall action has now corrupted my Mozilla Firefox home page. It no longer has the normal page format on the home page Foxnews.net. Rather than showing the normal text formats and pictures, I now have a simple white page, with the items associated with the Foxnews.com listed in a column on the left of the page. I uninstalled the Mozilla Firefox browser and re-installed it but this didn't help. When I tried to go to your website, Lavasoft.com, I also got the same type page at Lavasoft.com as in the Foxnews.com... white page with the content along the left side of the page.

I am able to open Foxnews.net normally on my Internet Explorer, and also can go to your Lavasoft.com page normally with no problems..Additionally, I was unable to download the Ad Aware 2007 Free program from your website.. which directed me to the CNet page... I'll wait till I hear from you before I try any further actions....please advise.. and thanks again...

I received an e-mail from CNet this morning and it gave me the option of downloading Ad Aware 2007 again. I downloaded the new program and installed it with no problems. I am now able to update my Definitions.
I am still unable to get my foxnews.com (defaut) page to open normally on the Mozilla Firefox browser...( I am able to open other browsers such as Yahoo.com and Ask.com normally with Mozilla)......I still get the symptoms I told you about earlier... white page, only a list of the items on the foxnews.com home page along the left side of the page.... a few color pictures. When I open my Internet Explorer and open the foxnews.com home page, it is normal. Please advise..Thanks
