Message:
Access violation at address 00403413 in module 'Ad-Aware2007.exe' Write of Address 00000008

I've tried installing Ad-Aware on several different computers on my network and all get this error message (or a similar one - I didn't write down previous messages) as soon as I open the program for the first time.

All computers that I've tried are running xp sp 2, with Trend Micro Officescan 7.5. I've tried disabling Trend and it doesn't help.

Oh yeah, I'm using the free version.

Please help - I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Adam

This problem appears to more wide scale than Lavasoft has been willing to acknowledge. I've seen this same exact error on 5 different computers. No matter what I try, uninstall/reinstall, nothing gets application to launch without the error. Hopefully Lavasoft is monitoring these forums closely and will issue an update to fix the error soon!

Add me to the list. Installed, and was able to open it up. As soon as I hit scan, it errored probably hundreds of times before finally stopping flashing messageboxes and then exited. The error I get is:
Component: TTimer
Message: Access violation at address 00403413 in module 'Ad-Aware2007.exe'. Write of address 000000008

After the first time, I no longer can even open the app without running into the same errors - it goes 'Loading Application" --> "Setting up Values" --> "Done" - then cascading errors.

I also tried restarting the service as described at http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=13260 with the same results as above. This is the free edition on XP SP2 running under a domain account with local admin privs.

Hi ScottInCA,

As I posted above, the Devs are aware of this error and are looking in to it.

I see that you have found one of the threads that I have been responding to.

Have you updated to the latest version (7.0.2.5)?

Regards,

Spike
