Hi,

Since I downloaded the latest update a few days ago my 2007 Ad-Aware Free Version #7.0.2.3 will not finish a scan. I get about 20 seconds into it and I get a message that the program has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Under details in my Event Viewer it says:

Hi Spy Sentinel,

I am running Win XP SP2 using IE7.

I also have Zone Alarm as my Firewall and Avast (Free) as my anti-virus.

In addition I also regularly use Spybot S&D, Spyware Blaster, A-Squared, AVG Anti Spyware, Windows Defender and I keep them all up todate.

For the record this is the first time I have experienced any problems with Ad-Aware since I installed 2007 when it first came out. I just noticed it right after I ran the latest update for it yesterday or the day before.

Thanks and regards,

Morning,

Still wondering if anyone else is experiencing a problem similar to mine or if it is just me?

I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program but still no luck.

Thanks and regards,

Good afternoon,

In case anyone is still following this thread I just want to let you know I just successfully ran a scan.

To the best of my knowledge I haven't done anything differently since I started having problems a few days back.

But as the saying goes ... all is well that ends well!

Hi SpySentinel,

Yes, it seems to have been resolved. How, I don't know. But , just to make sure, I ran another quick scan right before answering this post and all went well.

Hopefully, the problem won't return.

Thanks and regards,
