I purchased a boxed set from Best Buy retail last year. I received an email with a login ID & password, but never had occasion to use it. Well, now I've tried to upgrade to newest version. You most likely already know - the ID / password aren't recognized.

The retail box & CD sleeve do not have a serial # on it. A serial # wasn't asked for during installation nor is it available from within the product !!! This is frustrating because you cannot contact support without registering & you cannot register without serial #!?!?!?

Almost every registered product I have purchased allows me to view my license information from the Help screens, but not Ad-Aware / Ad-Watch.

Please help, as I like the product ... but don't feel I should be punished do to failures of distribution channel or license support.

Hi jdpohl,

The product that you would have bought last year would have been Ad-Aware SE - the "Retail Box-Set Registration" page looked like this:

As you can see, there was no Serial # for AAW SE, so yes in that respect you are correct (it only applies to the new AAW2007).

The License database was recently migrated and some of the account links were broken. To have your email address re-recognised,
go to the Support Center and click on the "Forgotten password/changed email" link:

You will need to follow the same process as that for registering a new email address:

Attach a copy of the email as proof of perchase/registration (as required) and your account log-in will be recognised again.

Support still has a backlog of requests, so it may take a few days to sort out (I did this procedure for a relative 6 to 8 weeks ago. It took a week and 2 replies - the backlog is smaller now, so it shouldn't take so long). It pays to keep all correspondence in the same "email-chain", so that all info is to hand for whoever is assisting you.

You may have personal issues with getting your licensed Ad-Ware 2007 Pro working: No Support Whatsoever!

I have purchased the Ad-Ware 2007 Pro and installed it on my Desktop computer.
Since then the this freezes up when I run a scan and will not remove any bugs ....

The product is not working for almost a week.

That does not give you the right to spam other Topics with comments like:
