Hello jayvilla777,

Apologies for missing seeing this very old post until now. For one thing, it was in the wrong area (this area is for posting HijackThis logs) and I guess it got overlooked inadvertently.

The Virtumonde removal tool is obsolete and no longer need with the new version of Ad-Aware 2007.

You can get the new version of Ad-Aware 2007 here:
http://www.lavasoft.com/

Install, get the updates for it and scan your computer. Let it remove any infected files found (or quarantine)

If you are still having a problem with Vundo aka Virtumonde, please post back here as that infection is known to be very difficult to remove by any scanners to date (some of the newer variants anyway). However, we can probably help with manual removal if needed.

So just reply back here if you are still needing help. I'm now subscribed to this topic so I will receive a notice from the board as soon as you reply, and I can be here much more quickly than it has taken to get to your new topic.

Hello,

I am having a similar issue; receiving the BSOD upon running any kind of Ad-Aware scan, and this forum has given me a number of possible solutions, but many include first running Virtuamond (which you have indicated is obsolete)

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

You'll need to start your own new topic as this thread belongs to jayvilla777 and I can't examine two persons logs in a single thread without confusing everyone.

So run this tool and post your own new topic with the log it makes please.
Please download
VundoFix.exe
to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files,
    click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing
    Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer,
    click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new
    HiJackThis log.
